Welcome to Brown Box Theatre Project!

Life's short. In theatre, as in life, it's easy to get stuck waiting for the right opportunity to come along. Actors can spend years waiting to audition for that one perfect role; directors often have a favorite play they have never mounted; playwrights can acquire a stack of unpublished material; and many multitalented artists can find themselves pigeonholed into one role.

Brown Box Theatre Project was created in 2009 by Kyler Taustin and Kimberly Barrante, two theatre artists who wanted to stop waiting. Since then, Brown Box has been utilizing their talent as actors, directors, and playwrights to create new opportunities for themselves and likeminded friends and colleagues.

Brown Box accepts submissions from all theatre artists, playwrights, performers, directors, and technicians. This unique submission policy makes it possible to play a dream role, bring a design to life, or find a perfect team to direct in your favorite play. If it's your dream to do it, we want to help you.

Brown Box has recently moved and is planning it's debut Boston season. After a successful tour of Twelfth Brown Box is ready to embrace Boston's artists and all they have to offer!

Keep an eye on our blog for pictures, videos, and press from our past shows! Plus we'll be announcing our new season here soon. Get ready everyone, Brown Box is here!

  1. Hi. I'm a playwright and I tried submitting a query to the emails you have posted on here and god a failure message. Where can I submit work/queries to. I'm very much interested in the project and would like to contribute. Thanks.
